According to June 28, 2017 in the current 2016/2017 agricultural year export of cereal crop reached 35 082 tons, which is 3,8% more than the previous season. Export structure is mostly represented by wheat, which scope of delivery has increased 9,3% in comparison to the previous season and reached 26 823 tons.
Within the III Yalta International Economic Forum Logistics Consulting Group (LCG) has presented investment project, aimed at longstanding Crimean wheat trade in China. Director General of the LCG Andrey Yakovlev told to Business Crimea magazine about attracted investments: “Pending to project scope of delivery – 500 thousands of tons per year we can speak about following investments:
- in floating assets to buy corn and finance its supply to the port in Novorosiyssk – up to 80 millions of US dollars;
- in elevators park formation - up to 30 millions of US dollars;
- in equipment fleet for sanitary disposal, wrapping and packaging of wheat - up to 10 millions of US dollars;
- in designing and technical equipment of port container terminal in one of eastern Crimean ports - up to 20 millions of US dollars;
Totally, about 140 millions of US dollars. Herewith, up to 70% floating capital we plan to attract in Chinese banks and 30% of investment should be made by our Chinese partners and us. Concerning investments in infrastructure, we also figure on Chinese banks’ support and the rest of 30% we plan to divide with interested Crimean companies. We are looking forward to attract FGUP “Crimea Railway”, GUP “Crimean seaports” and other transport and logistics owners and operators in Crimea”.
