The Republic of Crimea concluded 8 cooperation agreements with the regions of the Russian Federation at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi, where the theme of investment in the regions was the main topic at all panel discussions.
Regions that signed agreements with the Republic of Crimea on cooperation in trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural affairs include the Republic of Ingushetia, the Chuvash Republic as well as the Yaroslavl, Penza, Ryazan, Leningrad, Samara, Ulyanovsk, and Yaroslavl Regions.
Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov noted that his republic has had long and constructive cooperation with the Russian regions. “As governors, we maintain friendly relations and our governments have formed a road map along which we are moving”, Aksyonov said in comments on the agreement signed with the Yaroslavl Region. “Trade turnover is growing and businessmen from the Yaroslavl Region are actively involved in projects in the Republic of Crimea. We are confident that this situation will develop dynamically only for the good”.
“Last summer, we signed a very important strategic agreement on our interaction and interaction between enterprises, and we are already seeing certain results: the construction company Vympel sent Crimea the Comet, a new vessel that will be delivered to Sevastopol and hopefully in the summer will be involved in the process of high-speed sea passenger traffic. I am confident that the agreement signed today will serve as a new impetus for our interaction and the development of our regions”, Yaroslavl Region Governor Dmitry Mironov said following the signing of the agreement.
“We have had partnership relations with Crimea for many years. At one point we travelled around to the Russian regions in search of the best practices that had accumulated in the municipalities, and now we have the opportunity to come to Crimea because our colleagues have developed many successful practices in Crimea”, acting Samara Region Governor Dmitry Azarov said following the signing of an agreement.
The theme of interregional cooperation will be continued at the Yalta International Economic Forum in Crimea, Chairman of the Board of the YIEF Foundation and Co-chairman of the Organizing Committee of the YIEF 2018 Andrey Nazarov announced at the Russian Investment Forum. He said the majority of Russia’s regions have already confirmed they will take part in the Yalta International Economic Forum, which will be held in Crimea on 19–21 April. The biggest delegations will come from the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republic of Tatarstan as well as Moscow and the Moscow Region. Representatives of the authorities from Moscow and the Moscow Region as well as businessmen and investors from the Russian capital will be the most well represented representative delegation among the Russian regions at YIEF 2018.
“On 12–13 March, the Days of the Republic of Crimea will be held in Moscow, and then a large Moscow delegation will come and be honoured at the Yalta International Economic Forum”, Nazarov said. “There will be an honorary delegation from one of Russia’s regions at the YIEF for the first time. I hope that the delegation will be headed by Sergei Sobyanin. This is a great opportunity for the development of the Crimea. Moscow investors should see the entire potential of the region and all the unique investment opportunities over the duration of the forum. In addition, many Crimean businessmen would like to cooperate with Moscow. So Crimea-Moscow is a two-way road”.
