OOO OOO InterStroy has launched construction of the Dobrogorod apartment community in Sevastopol., which will be the city’s first project for renovating industrial areas. Dmitry Ovsyannikov, Governor of Sevastopol, and Evgeny Kabanov, General Director of OOO InterStroy, signed an investment agreement for the project on the sidelines of the 3rd Yalta International Economic Forum in April 2017.
The project for renovating industrial areas is being implemented with support from the Russian President and the country’s Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities, says the company’s press service.
“Since the Yalta International Economic Forum’s inception three years ago, it has consolidated its reputation as an effective venue for dialogue between business and authorities, as a venue for finding solutions to the crucial strategic issues in the development of Crimea and Sevastopol. I think that the signing of the agreement on renovation of industrial areas is a major result of our participation in the Forum in 2017. Our company is the fifth in Russia and the first in Sevastopol to implement such a project”, Mr Kabanov is quoted by the press service of OOO InterStroy.
Mr Kabanov also noted that renovation of industrial areas was proceeding full tilt in Moscow. “In 2018, Moscow plans to build 3.4 million sq.m. of real estate as part of industrial area renovation. Depressed areas occupy 17% of “old” Moscow and industrial area renovation accounts for approximately a third of all construction. The trend that is gaining impetus in Moscow could be rolled out into Russia’s regions, and the capital’s practices be studied and used.”
The industrial area renovation entails constructing Dobrogorod, a large, state-of-the-art apartment community, on the site of Sevastopol’s former Motor Transport Enterprise No. 14356 covering about 13 hectares. The planned development involves constructing about 2,000 apartments with a total area of approximately 100,000 sq.m. The industrial zone will be comprehensively developed over seven-eight years, with 10,000–12,000 sq.m. of residential space set to go into use annually.
Under the project, the developer will finance the construction of utilities. In addition, OOO InterStroy undertakes to finance construction of a kindergarten for 220 children and an elementary school for 240 pupils.
Currently, OOO InterStroy is clearing the site, demolishing old buildings and preparing the foundation pit. Soon, construction workers will start on the foundations for the first Dobrogorod phase, a mid-rise residential building with 252 apartments.
