Presently more than two dozen Crimea’s Friends clubs function in the European and other countries, operating within the framework of the corresponding international association. This was claimed by Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ambassador of the Republic of Crimea under the President of the Russian Federation Georgy Muradov at a press- conference of the International News Agency "Russia Today" in Simferopol.
"Today we can claim that the number of clubs of friends of Crimea has exceeded more than 20. It is referring to public associations do not need to be registered in the ministries of justice of foreign states. Crimea’s Friends clubs are voluntary communities of citizens who visited Crimea, understand it and sympathize with Crimea, " signed Muradov.
He is convinced that the number of such structures will be growing. Besides these clubs have been establishing in both European and the former Soviet Union countries.
"Businessmen from a number of former Soviet Union countries have joined us. Businessmen from Turkmenistan and Armenia are coming to visit us. They are actively interested in Crimea. But we should clearly understand what spheres of interests our partners have and to orient our own interests to these spheres, " - Muradov noted.
The International Association of Friends of Crimea is a public association aimed at using the methods of people's diplomacy to restore constructive cooperation between Russia and the West and the establishment of comprehensive cross-border links with the participation of the Republic of Crimea. The initiator of the establishment of the International Association of Friends of Crimea was the French financier and investor Jean-Pierre Thomas. In the course of the III Yalta International Economic Forum (YIEF) in April 2017, Mr. Tomas expressed the idea of creating a permanent association of foreign politicians and public figures supporting the Russian status of the Crimea and advocating the lifting of sanctions.
The main event of International Association of Friends of Crimea is the annual forum of friends of Crimea, which is held within the framework of the business program of the Yalta International Economic Forum.
