The Russian President visited the opening night of the international music festival "Opera in Chersonesos" in Sevastopol. Here on the stage the ballet stars performed roles from the performances "Corsair", "Giselle", "Swan lake", "Don Quixote". Later Vladimir Putin together with Metropolitan Tikhon visited the Vladimir Cathedral, where recovery work was in process.
The President of Russia was also shown the project of the museum, theatre and educational complexes in Sevastopol. Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets and Governor of Sevastopol Dmitriy Ovsyannikov reported about this project.
"Today we are talking about the fact that we should recover the "capital" to the cultural area of Crimea and Sevastopol to a completely new level. It is very important because our tourists flow grows day by day, — Golodets continued. — Since the opening of the Crimean bridge 1.5 million tourists have already passed through it. And for seven months we have seen a tourist inflow to the Crimean land by 26 percent," - the Deputy Prime Minister said.
The art complex will consist of two blocks. Central is an exhibition complex and a permanent exhibition of masterpieces of world art. At the request of the Crimean residents one of the complexes will be dedicated to the defense of Sevastopol. "Residents kindly request that the key painting, which became a symbol of the defense of Sevastopol (it is presented in the Russian Museum), will be exhibited here, because it is really the brightest symbol of defense," - Olga Golodets said.
