All works are carried out in accordance with the schedule," said chairman of the State Committee on Public Roads of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Karpov.
According to the agency, in the first phase of construction with a length of 190 km (in 1-4 sections from Kerch to Simferopol), 105.3 km of asphalt were laid in two-lane direction. Besides, the asphalt laying started on the first transport junction of the fifth section at the beginning of the Simferopol bypass road under construction. It will become available for traffic in the first phase of construction in December of the current year.
The construction of "Tavrida" is carried out simultaneously along the length of the highway. The first phase of the construction is planned to be completed at the end of this year, after that, two lanes will be opened for traffic on the highway from Kerch to Simferopol. Traffic on all four lanes of the highway to Sevastopol will be started in December 2020. The "Tavrida" highway includes 123 artificial structures and 18 transport junctions. The general contractor for the construction is AO "VAD", the cost of the project is 149.3 billion rubles.
On the sidelines of YIEF-2017, OOO "Karelprirodresurs" (a subdivision of AO "VAD") concluded an agreement with the Russian Land Use Union on a complex supply of natural materials for the "Tavrida" highway for the amount of about 8 billion rubles. The contract was signed by Igor Efremov, the General Director of OOO "Karelprirodresurs", and by Dmitriy Stashkiv, the President of the Russian Land Use Union.

Materials will be used in the construction of the highway. The contract sum is about 8 billion rubles.
"The price of the materials will be reasonable and we will control the quality of the materials," said General director of OOO "Karelprirodresurs" Igor Efremov after signing the contract. "These materials will be used for laying the road. And materials for asphalt will be imported to Crimea from Karelia."
