Crimean bridge is opened for freight traffic from October 1

Restrictions on the transportation of trucks on the Crimean bridge were no longer in force at midnight on Monday, October 1, 2018.

The "Crimean Bridge" information center reported that the freight traffic on the transport passage through the Kerch Strait will be opened from the beginning of October.

"On Monday, October 1, at 00.00, all restrictions that were valid on the new section of the A-290 highway along the Crimean bridge for the high holiday season are lifted," the report said.

Provision of transportation security will be carried out at special inspection points on the Kerch and Taman coasts.

The road section of the bridge to Crimea is equipped with four lanes with a capacity of 40 thousand cars per day. The maximum permissible speed limit of the 19-kilometer construction is 90 km/h. The traffic of cars and buses was opened on May 16, 2018, more than six months ahead of schedule.
