Official position of the Norwegian authorities regarding Crimea may change

The delegates from Norway, who were in Crimea on a reference visit, believe that the peninsula is a legitimate part of Russia, and the referendum on reunification with the Russian Federation was held without violating human rights. This was stated by the head of the delegation - entrepreneur Hendrik Weber.

According to Weber, the official position of the Norwegian authorities regarding Crimea may change. “The situation is changing. We have a sense that now many politicians already understand what actually happened in 2014,” he said.

In addition, the head of the delegation also criticized the Western sanctions imposed on Russia after the reunification with Crimea. According to him, the restrictions against the Russian Federation are a political decision, there is no point in them.

“European countries suffer from sanctions. This destroys jobs, companies collapse, and other areas suffer,” said Weber.

The delegation from Norway was in Crimea with a six-day visit. The agenda included extensive meetings and visits to the regions of the peninsula. The visit lasted until October 6.

The Norwegian delegation included social activists, representatives of the scientific community, the agricultural sector and entrepreneurship. Head of the delegation, Hendrik Weber, is the head of the public organization “The People Diplomacy Norway”.
