"Tavrida" highway is partially open for traffic

The vehicle movement has begun on several sections of the new highway between Simferopol and Kerch, the total length of open areas for traffic - more than 40 km. This was reported by Grigoriy Nazarov, the press-secretary of the construction department of "VAD" Ltd.

"In total, the vehicle movement is open on two lanes at more than 40 km away. The first phase of the highway "Tavrida" is 190 km in a two-lane version", — said Mr. Nazarov. By the end of the year the traffic will also be opened at the first junction (near the turn to the Trudovoye village) of the fifth stage of the highway (bypassing Simferopol), the contractor noted. This is necessary that traffic could pull off the open road and drive to the highway "Tavrida".

Construction of the highway "Tavrida", which will connect the Crimean bridge with Simferopol and Sevastopol, is carried out simultaneously along the whole length of the highway. The first stage of construction is planned to be completed at the end of this year, after that, two lanes of the highway from Kerch to Simferopol will be opened for traffic. Traffic on all four lanes of the highway to Sevastopol will open in December 2020. The highway "Tavrida" will include 123 engineering structures and 18 traffic interchanges. General construction contractor is "VAD" Ltd., the worth of the project — 149.3 billion rubles.

On the sidelines of YIEF-2017, "Karelprirodresurs" LLC (a subdivision of "VAD" Ltd.) concluded an agreement with the Russian Land Use Union on the complex supply of natural materials for the "Tavrida" highway, worth about 8 billion rubles. The contract was signed by Igor Efremov, the General Director of "Karelprirodresurs" LLC and Dmitriy Stashkiv, the President of the Russian Land Use Union.

According to the agreement, 14 quarries that belong to Crimean companies and are located in Crimea along the future federal highway "Tavrida", should supply materials for the road bed within 3,5 years. Materials will be used in the construction of the highway. The contract sum is about 8 billion rubles.
