Sergey Aksyonov, Head of the Republic of Crimea, conducted a presentation of the Region’s investment capacity in front of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev as part of the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi.
The Head of the Republic of Crimea said that the Region offered a special approach to investors: a government official with a rank up to minister is assigned to each investment project, so investors have no difficulty in communicating with the authorities.
“Last year, we considered about 1,000 investor enquiries and another 300 are currently under consideration. More than 140 investment projects worth a total of more than RUB 144 bn are under way at the moment, this requiring an additional 11,000 jobs. Today, as part of the Russian Investment Forum, four agreements have been signed totalling approximately RUB 11 bn”, Sergei Aksyonov said.
The Government of Crimea signed an agreement with OOO ETTs v Parkovom to implement the investment project “Multiuse Sports and Recreation Facility in Parkovoe (Yalta). The investment requirement is estimated at RUB 9.8 bn. Crimea will have 288 new jobs as a result of the project, for which the Government is to provide a 33.5-hectare land plot for the project. The facility is expected to be completed in six years. Furthermore, the investor undertakes to redevelop a 100-metre section of the embankment in the town of Simeiz.
Development Corporation of the Republic of Crimea signed two memoranda of cooperation with prospective investors willing to promote technology parks in Feodosia and Bakhchisarai. “The first company is an ice-cream factory, worth RUB 800 m. The second is Kirov House Building Factory with German technologies for making pre-fabricated panels – the company plans to localise a factory in Crimea, a project that will be worth RUB 1 bn”, said Oleg Morozov, General Director of JSC Development Corporation of the Republic of Crimea. “In addition, we already have plans to sign some investment agreements at the Yalta International Economic Forum this April, and we are getting ready for this.”
The stand of the Republic of Crimea and the Yalta International Economic Forum is open at the hall of the Main Media Centre of the Russian Investment Forum on 27 and 28 February. The stand provides presentations of the investment potential of Crimea and YIEF 2017 designed for entrepreneurs and Russian Investment Forum guests on a permanent basis.
