Sudan, Congo and Niger decided to intensify trade and economic relations with the Peninsula.
Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Niger called on the international community to lift sanctions against Moscow because of the reunification of Crimea with Russia and officially advocated economic cooperation with the Peninsula. This was told in the national parliaments of the three countries and the Ministry of industry of the Sudan. The authors of the initiative introduced the resolutions on measures to establish trade relations with the Republic and other subjects of the Russian Federation.
The Republic of the Niger considers it necessary to intensify relations with Russia and, in particular, with Crimea, as well as to expand cooperation between the companies of the two countries. According to the Deputy of the National Assembly, member of the Commission on economic development of the Deputy Friendship group "Russia–Niger" Umar Abdurahaman, the international community should lift all anti-Russian restrictions and begin to cooperate with the Republic. In this regard, the Sudan and the DRC support the Niger: all three countries will simultaneously consider resolutions calling for the intensification of trade relations with the Peninsula.
— Relations between Russia and African countries will allow the parties to focus on deepening the methods and conditions of cooperation, this will lead to extensive participation of Russian banks and investors in the development of the African continent. Niger appreciates the leadership that Russia demonstrates under the management of Vladimir Putin, who has become a real idol for African youth, - Umar Abdurahaman told to «Izvestia». — We will also call on the international community to lift anti-Russian sanctions. And I will represent this anti-sanction movement everywhere.
Minister of industry and trade of Sudan Hamid Mohammed is assured that African countries will become a reliable partner of Russia both politically and economically.
— Various business platforms play an important role in creating conditions for such contacts. The YIEF becomes an ideal platform - Crimea has great investment potential for the development of economic cooperation. We, along with our colleagues from Niger and the DRC, submit a resolution to the National Assembly for the normalization of economic relations with the Peninsula, " - the Sudanese Minister said.
He also recalled that on the 16th of March, during the visit of Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov to Khartoum, the countries confirmed their intention to increase mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment partnership.
— We are very pleased that several African countries have raised the issue of necessity to establish full-scale trade and economic relations with the Russian regions, especially with the Crimea. We appreciate these friendly steps and open support for the free choice of Crimeans, —the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov noted.
According to him, it once again emphasizes that all actions of a number of countries aimed at the international isolation of the region are foredoomed to failure. Every year more and more foreign businessmen, politicians and public figures from Europe, Africa, Asia and other regions visit Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov noted.
The co-Chairman of the fifth Yalta International Economic Forum (YIEF) stressed that it is difficult to overestimate the prospects for business cooperation between Africa and Crimea, as trade between them has already grown to $14.5 billion.
For the second year in a row Yalta Forum have been inviting representatives of African countries to build a business dialogue. Last year, the Forum hosted delegates from 20 countries. In April, we expect 70 delegates from 30 African countries. The Grand session "Russia-Africa. Evolution of solutions" will be held for the participants of the Forum, where a large layer of issues will be discussed - from the recognition of the results of the Crimean referendum to business cooperation.
On the 18th of March the fifth anniversary of reunification Crimea with Russia was celebrated. Ceremonial events with the participation of delegations from France and Syria began on the 16th of March - a historic referendum was held this day in 2014, in which more than 96% of the population of the Peninsula voted for the region's affiliation to the Russian Federation.
Despite numerous attempts by the West to prevent the recognition of Crimea as part of the Russian Federation and by means of sanctions to isolate the Peninsula from the outside world, international attention to the region is growing every year. For example, in 2016, the regional Council of the Italian region of Veneto introduced a resolution demanding to recognize the status of Crimea.
— We were pioneers in the international recognition of the reunification of Crimea with Russia, - the member of Parliament Veneto Stefano Valdegamberi noted. - And after five years, there is no doubt: the Republic should be part of the Russian Federation. I am very sorry that our example has not yet been followed by the entire leadership of the European Union. After all, we must respect the will of people and remember the historical roots of the Peninsula.
Similar calls were made in the parliaments of Serbia, Slovakia and other European States. In different countries created clubs of the Association "Friends of the Crimea", which try to fight the information blockade and to provide its countrymen with objective information about life on the Peninsula.
