The photo exhibition opened at Simferopol Airport on 18 April features investment opportunities and major infrastructure projects currently implemented in the region.
The exhibition, a joint project of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of Crimea, the Yalta International Economic Forum Foundation and Simferopol Airport, is part of the preparation for the III Yalta International Economic Forum on 20, 21 and 23 April. The exhibits are displayed at the airport arrival terminal so that all arriving passengers immediately get visual information on the region’s infrastructure and economic development.
The focus of the exposition is formed by more than ten investment projects offered by the Republic of Crimea. Also on view are photographs on the current activities of the companies resident in the newly created Free Economic Zone (FEZ) and pictures from the Yalta International Economic Forums in 2015 and 2016. The most eye-catching pictures show the implementation of large infrastructure projects: the building of the bridge across the Kerch Strait, the Kuban-Crimea long-distance gas pipeline, motorways, power plants, energy infrastructure, etc.
Another highlight is information and photos of the building of the new air terminal at Simferopol Airport, the biggest public-private partnership project under way in Crimea. The agreement on building the new terminal with a capacity of 6.5 million passengers a year was signed on the sidelines of the II YIEF in April 2016.
“We want to showcase events that are important for the residents and guests of the peninsula. We are the air gateway to Crimea, we form the first impression arrivals get as they set foot on the land of Crimea, we show them how Crimea is developing, what new projects are being implemented for the benefit of our Republic and the whole of Russia,” said Igor Laptev, director of Simferopol International Airport for liaison with the authorities and public relations.
